About Filmeditors.nl:

Filmeditors.nl was started by Peter Alderliesten, Wouter Jansen, Job ter Burg, and Herman P. Koerts, feature film editors from the Netherlands, in association with the Dutch Film and Television Academy. It was meant not only as a social event where film editors from Holland (and Belgium) could meet socially on a regular basis, but more so as a means for all of our colleagues - as well as film students - to share experiences, enter lively debates about our wonderful profession, and to inspire each other.

Filmeditors.nl evenings started with the screening of a recent Dutch film. After that, the editor of that particular film would be interviewed about the editing of the film by an interested colleague, in front of a - preferably participating - audience of colleagues and film students. The interviewer and interviewee prepared the session in advance, selecting specific points of interest, and the interviewed editor usually brought along the editing project, including alternate versions of scenes, deleted scenes, work versions, etc. in order to illustrate the conversation.

In association with the Binger Filmlab, we had setup an international version of this idea at www.filmeditors.org.

As of April 2011, Filmeditors has evolved into the Netherlands Association of Cinema Editors (NCE).
